The story behind the work
« PERCEPTION »
This painting expresses the feeling of perfect imperfections. I believe the race for perfection we sometimes put ourselves through stops us from appreciating what is real, and makes us miss what is alive. It is part of the process I develop in my paintings.
I start from a photo and draw its outline, then I paint without a reference, from intention and memory. It gives images that sway between the real and the imagined, and it keeps me away from the temptation of copying, which would lose the human imperfection I want to keep in these paintings.
Original - 2026
Acrylic on canvas
Size: 60 x 60 x 4 cm
Why choose Duhaut Paris?
Every print starts with an original painting by Angélique Duhaut, made in her studio in Mauritius. The canvas is photographed in high definition so the edition keeps each brushstroke, each colour, each detail of the painting.
You buy directly from the artist: no marketplace, no reseller.
