Ici

The story behind the work
« Ici » (here) and « Maintenant » (now) are the first two paintings of the « Présent » collection.
They answer each other, as if to heighten their impact on the viewer.
« Ici » expresses the starting point of this collection: it was by exploring the Mauritian lagoon every day that I found a kind of calm again, and a presence to who I am.
« Maintenant » mirrors my intention with this collection: to explore our relationship with time, the place we give to the present moment and the way we inhabit it.

Why choose Duhaut Paris?
Every print starts with an original painting by Angélique Duhaut, made in her studio in Mauritius. The canvas is photographed in high definition so the edition keeps each brushstroke, each colour, each detail of the painting.
You buy directly from the artist: no marketplace, no reseller.
